This is a 1604 Scotland Thistle Merk PCGS XF Detail Environmental Damage S-5497 (Extra Fine). This hammered coin is .9160 silver and is about the size of the United States Half Dollar. The damage seems to be on the left portion of the Thistle where it is a dark black-like area. Overall, the coin has some great details especially being over 400 years old!
