    Almost 200 year old Christian publication.
    Offered for sale is an original 1820s chapbook printing of The Doctrine of the Cross of Christ, Stated and Improved, written by John Miller (1780-1852) and printed by R. Tilling, Liverpool UK
    .
    Chapbooks were small booklets of 8, 12, 16 and 24 pages, often illustrated with crude woodcuts. Produced cheaply and sold by peddlars on the streets, they formed the staple reading material of the common people, along with broadsides.
    The first page has a wood cut.
