Description
A fantastic late 18th century reticulated Chinese export Armorial porcelain small platter, bearing the coat of arms of the earl of Fortescue. This platter or serving dish measures just 9.25 x 8.5“. It would’ve been the smallest in a graduated set of probably five or six platters made for the earl in the second half of the 18th century. It boasts a pinkish band to the rim, a reticulated band, and a nice 2.25 inch crest with Family motto forte scutum salus ducum. The platter, if we can call it that, is in excellent condition. There is some wear to the elaborate coat of arms. The only drawback is that it is significantly undersized. Buyer to pay .95 insured priority shipping within the US or 2 pounds priority international. A fantastic armorial display piece a bit on the small side.
