This scapular is made of two parts connected by an 18-1/2 inch long cord. One part depicts St Michael defeating the Devil. The other part depicts a shield with two fiery swords. On the shield are the words, "QUIS UT DEUS" which means, "Who is like God".
This is a Devotional Scapular. Devotional scapulars are objects of popular piety, primarily worn by Roman Catholics, as well as some Anglicans and Lutherans, designed to show the wearer's pledge to a confraternity, a saint, or a way of life, as well as reminding the wearer of that promise.
