Edward Marshall Boehm is perhaps the most noted American porcelain artist of his time.  He was born in 1913 and died in 1969.
Boehm porcelain is uniquely part of the permanent collections of the White House, Buckingham Palace, Elysee Palace, the Hermitage Museum, and the Vatican Museum, among many others.  Boehm was accorded his highest honor in 1992 when a wing of the Vatican Museum in Rome was named in his memory.  This was the first time in the 500-year history of the Vatican Museum that one of its thirteen museums was named for an American artist, as the twelve other museums are named for popes and royal families.
