(6th cent.).
A rarest beautiful piece!
Obv.: Mother of God standing
to left
in 3/4 and holding Jesus Christ as infant, nimbate, wearing chiton and maphorion,
flanked by two crosses in the field, no visible border.
Rev.: Cruciform monogram, resolved with certainty as ΚΩΝCΤΑΝΤΙΝΟΥ (of Constantine, the owner of the seal), traces of border.

Condition: Very Fine plus, as in photos.
Uncleaned, with attractive natural cream patina.
