Gold, 4.24 gr. Ruler:
John III Ducas, Emperor of Nicaea

Obv: Christ enthroned facing forward, a nimbus around his head  the letters IC to his left and XC to his right.
Rev: Emperor crowned by the Virgin Mary who is standing to his right.
Well struck on a nice full sized planchet. Light planchet cracks from the strike are typical for this issue.
