Camino de Santiago Scallop Shell

Description

The scallop shell with the painted red cross of St James is the ubiquitous symbol of the Camino de Santiago and most pilgrims attach one to their backpacks as they walk towards Santiago de Compostela as a symbol and an acknowledgement of their pilgrimage.
These shells come from Spain and are pretty uniform in appearance.
