This is aHerend of Hungary Porcelain Foo Dog Figurine in Rust-Color Fishnet pattern
The Foo Dog is an ancient symbol of protection in the Chinese Buddhist tradition. Foo Dogs (sometimes called "Foo Lions") often appeared in pairs outside luxury homes or temples as guardians and protectors. He has a very playful and expressive face (please look at the pictures!), and he is looking left and holding his right paw forward. He is hand-painted porcelain, and there are 24-karat gold details on his paws, mouth, and nose. The figurine is done in the fishnet pattern but the tail is solid. He measures approximately 6 inches tall, 6 1/2 inches long, and 3 1/2 inches wide.
