"The latest motif of Herend porcelain manufactury was inspired by blossoming chestnut branches. Similar ornamentation was Alredy used on some beautiful, turn of the 19th century Art Nouveau pieces created during Jenő Farkasházy Fischer’s directorship. However, while that pattern used the so-called  „Pate sur Pate” technique to create a Relef design, these 21st century pieces are painted without contours. The border decoration of the gold-rimmed snow-white porcelain features willowy chestnut branches adorned with pink blossoms, gilded chestnuts and yellowish green leaves. The dynamics of the motif are created by the contrast between the meticulously painted leaves and fruit peeking from spiky husks and the transparent, almost aquarelle-like, sketchy depiction of the blossoms. The richly coloured pattern is applied to part of, or the entrie border and can be seen on ornaments as well as dinner sets."
