    Emperor Justinian wearing jeweled Crown, military cuirass and holding shield in left hand and globular crucible in right hand.
    Reverse.Large M denotes value, above Cross, below M the Greek letter Gamma for the shop the coin was made.
    Bottom, the city the coin was minted
    To the left ANNO (Regal year), right, the date the coin was made.
    Sometimes the flan was misshapen enough to to miss part of the legend but that’s the way it was and for some reason tolerated at some mints.
