This auction is for a Used CS-1 Mid Case with some corrosion damage.
I bought this case with the existing damage and I held it for a spare part.
The previous owner must have left the case outside in a container that held some water and some corrosion set in.
The case is structurally OK and can be assembled with gear set components, but one section of the sealing surface has been eroded.
It was my intent to assemble the section and bolt it up to an adjoining section, and then use some silicone sealer to stop the oil from leaking.
This section of the transmission is only subjected to splash oiling so there is no pressure working on the sealing surface.  Additionally, the eroded section is only on the top half of the oil sump so there is no oil present until the trans is operational in gear.
I know the case will stand up structurally to the job it has to do, and it would represent a bargain for some creative "hands-on" racer. Please understand you are buying a flawed part at a great price that is in need of some TLC regarding the potential leak area, but it will not affect the operation of the trans.
