Michael IX and Andronicus II Palaeologus AR Basilicon 1294-1320 AD NGC XF SCARCE TYPE. This piece has the names of the two rulers on the reverse legend stylized as ANDRONIKOS MHNLDESPO, which is scarcer than the anonymous issue usually seen in this coin. There is some original mint luster along the edges and low points of the coin, making this a good example of an XF ancient with original surfaces. Excellent piece of late Byzantine coinage!
