Offering for sale a very rare original 1967 Feathers Point Cinema Underground Movie Poster.
Rare poster advertising the psychedelic DIY underground Cinema Feathers Point in San Francisco. Some of the advertise films being the works of Buster Keaton, Laurel and Hardy, Charlie Chaplin, The samurai Saga Ugetsu, Jean Genet’s Deathwatch “starring Leonard Nimoy” And also a variety of underground local/west coast filmmakers of the era.
Poster designer is Maurya Smith.
I’m selling this for a relative who was actively involved in the San Francisco scene during the 60’s. He was the sole operator and owner of the feathers point cinema, with his image being featured center. He put this poster in a antique steamers truck along with the rest of his uncirculated/non-displayed poster collection in his Castro district apartment. Later moving out of San Francisco in early 1968. In the ensuing years it has sat safely stored away for the last 50+ years untouched.
This poster is 100% authentic, original and unrestored. Please look closely at the provided pictures as they are the actual item. Overall condition is near mint, uncirculated example. Size is approximately 14” X 20”.
