    Description

    Containing 185 woodcuts engraved by Jean Jacques de Sandrart (I.I.V.Sandr.) with the initials of E.P. (Artist). in original leather binding containing the Old and New Testament. Published in Nuremberg, Germany. In original full leather binding with gilt decoration to both boards, some surface damaged and worn corners. Spine has some minor damage at foot. Front pastedown shows some child ink drawings and scribbles. Front free endpaper is not present.
    Title page to the Old Testament is missing - the first woodcut starts at number 15. This then runs consecutively trough to number 144. Title page to the New Testament is present with ink drawings on reverse with a name Carolus Heinrichus. The first woodcut starts at number 1 this then runs consecutively to number 54 ending with a loos page number 57 & 58 which is torn with a closed tear.
    Total amounts to 185 woodcuts - most in very good clean condition with the occasional ink spot and short closed tear to margins commensurate with age. Many of the woodcuts are signed with the engravers initials I.I.V.Sandr.
