Rollei S- Heidosmat 1:2.8 150mm lens 4 P11.0 P66/Rolleivision 66 projectors NOS

Description

This is the latest, black anodized tube version of the Rollei S-Heidosmat 1:2.8 150mm projection lens for Rollei/Rolleivision medium format and universal projectors. Never used, new old stock as seen, in original box.This was made by ISCO (part of the Schneider group) and it was the best lens available for the Rollei medium format projectors, being a 5 element in 5 groups design. It was replaced after it sold out by another Schneider lens, the AV-Xenotar HFT which was actually contracted out to another optical manufacturer (Schneider put its name on it and sold it, like it did with some projection lenses made in Japan). The Xenotar lens works fine on the latter models (starting with the P66, basically on all halogen lamp models including the Rolleivision 66 Dual P) but it bottoms out if you try to project on a screen close to 6' (70"X70") on the P11.0 model. This lens doesn't have that problem being sold for the classic Universal (i.e. P11.0) alongside the P66 models. I show it with the focusing tube removed to see how large the optics are (if you happen to have the modest Franke & Heidecke Heidosmat 1:2.8 3 element lens you can compare them). Rare, of course. I don't know what the price for this particular lens was new, but the replacement (AV Xenotar HFT 150mm) sold for 0 around year 2000 (probably over 00 nowadays, adjusted for inflation).
