    signed 4 x 7.5" sheet. Dowling was an eminent American Baptist who pastored in New York in the 1850s and was author of Rome Drunk on the Blood of the Saint, Dowling's History of Romanism, etc. He pastored several of the largest Baptist churches in New York, Rhode Island, and Philadelphia. Brainerd was nephew of David. So son to John Brainerd, who took over upon David's death. Thomas wrote a biography of his father, helped edit later editions of David's dary, and himself was subject of a biography by Mary Brainerd and an eminent minister of Pine Street Presbyterian and an earnest minister. The pair on one sheet.
