    The two pence coin is currently the second lowestcirculating denomination of the British (decimal) Pound Sterling, after thehalf penny was demonetised in 1984. It was one of three new coins introducedinto general circulation on the 15 February 1971 when the United Kingdomadopted a new decimal currency system
