    Description

    These World War II patches were worn by Staff and Trainees at the Maritime Services Training Station in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn NY.
    They are in excellent, unissued condition.  The large patch is 4 inches in diameter, and the small patch is 2¼ inches in diameter.
    The United States Maritime Service Training Station at Sheepshead Bay was opened on September 1, 1942, and operated until February 1954. The station was the largest maritime training station during World War II and was equipped to train 30,000 merchant seamen each year.
